Capturing Puppy Love on Boston’s North Shore: Meet Lauren Peet of LP Pet Photography
by Andi Garbarino
I'm thrilled to introduce you to someone really special today - Lauren Peet of LP Pet Photography. She's not just an amazingly talented dog photographer, but also a cherished part of our local pet-loving community. If you’ve had the pleasure to work with Lauren, you know that you leave a session with her not only with gorgeous photos you’ll cherish forever, but you'll also be smiling from ear to ear!
From Rescue Mom to Photography Profesional
It all started back in 2019 when Lauren adopted her rescue pup, Willa. "Willa was my very first subject when I got her five years ago, and I've been hooked on photography ever since," Lauren tells us. Her face lights up any time she talks about her furry muse. (And I must confess that it’s true—Willa is the goodest of girls!)
But Willa wasn't just Lauren's first model. She was the spark that changed Lauren's life in a big way. "I've always struggled with feeling good enough, but Willa showed me what unconditional love really means. I'll never stop being grateful to her for that," Lauren shared.
This deep bond with Willa set the stage for LP Photography. What began as a hobby, snapping pics for friends and family, quickly grew into a passion project. Before long, Lauren was turning her love for pets and photography into a real business, joining the awesome community of pet professionals here in Boston.
Meet the Team: Lauren’s Furry Inspirations
With Lauren’s marketing background and creative eye, she brings something unique to every shoot. But she's quick to give credit to her biggest cheerleaders and inspirations - her three rescue pets.
"My furbabies mean everything to me," Lauren tells us. "Willa and her kitty brothers are my best friends, the reason LP Pet Photography exists, and my constant support system."
This deep love for her own pets helps Lauren approach each shoot with empathy and understanding. She makes sure both the furry subjects and their humans feel totally comfortable and confident.
A Mission Rooted in Love: Why LP Pet Photography Stands Out
For Lauren, LP Pet Photography is about so much more than taking cute pictures. It's about capturing the essence of the bond between pets and their people, creating memories that will last forever.
"Saying goodbye to your furry family member is one of the hardest things we'll ever do. Nothing can take away that pain completely, but having sweet memories to look back on keeps them alive in our hearts. That's my goal - to document the love we share with our pets so they can live on forever."
This heartfelt mission hits home for pet parents who know the deep, but too short, journey we share with our furry friends. In a world where pets are family, Lauren's work means more than ever.
What makes Lauren stand out is her commitment to making sure everyone, human and animal, is at ease during photo sessions. "My top priority is making sure my clients, both two and four-legged, are comfortable and confident," she said. Lauren takes pride in her ability to connect with pets of all personalities, whether they're "overly excited, shy or reactive."
This skill is key in pet photography, where the subjects might not always get what's going on. Lauren's ability to adapt to each pet's needs means she captures real, authentic moments, even when it's challenging.
Lauren's approach has earned her a pack of happy clients, with rave reviews about her patience, talent, and knack for getting beautiful shots, even with the most energetic or camera-shy pets.
Rachel, Kirby's mom, shared, "Lauren is a blast to work with and super patient behind the camera. Even though my pup was totally overstimulated and barely listened that day, she still got clear, gorgeous photos!"
Heather, who had a session with her dog Boone and daughter, said, "Lauren was so accommodating and amazing with our dog. The photos with my daughter and him were absolutely breathtaking! She did such a beautiful job, I'd recommend her to anyone."
Supporting Rescue Pets and Animal Shelters
As a rescue pet parent herself, Lauren is passionate about supporting animal shelters and helping pets find their forever homes. She's photographed local fosters in the Boston/Northshore area and hopes to do even more in the future.
"Working with shelter animals is something I'd love to continue and expand," Lauren tells me. "With three shelter pets of my own, I'm extremely passionate about the rescue community and increasing exposure for the MANY sweet souls looking for their forever homes."
This dedication to rescue work is something so many members of our Boston Dog Moms community share. It reflects our common values and commitment to animal welfare.
Pet Photography meets Dog Fashion
On top of her photography, Lauren has a fun side project that'll make tails wag - a bandana shop! "I sell on Etsy and at in-person events. As a pet owner myself, I firmly believe you can never have too many bandanas."
This venture showcases Lauren's creativity and her understanding of what pet owners adore. The bandanas add a playful, stylish element to her brand and give pet owners another way to celebrate their furry friends. Check out her adorable, trendy bandanas at lppetphotography.etsy.com.
